Fire Management Plans and Supporting Environmental Assessments, Bureau of Indian Affairs

pueblos_bia_fire_managment_plans8 Pueblos, New Mexico.

This project is an example of Bureau of Indian Affairs fuels and fire management policies expressed in management plans for separate Indian Reservations, all with differing management goals and objectives. This project required consultation not only with agency resource managers, but also with tribal councils and resource staffs. Multiple land management strategies had to be considered when planning long-range fire management programs.
