Carrie Dennett

Carrie worked for 14 years in both resource management and fire management for the National Park Service. She began her career at Grand Canyon National Park as a Biological Science Technician and moved to Fire Ecologist and then to Fire Management Officer of Chiricahua National Monument/Fort Bowie National Historic Site. With a B.A. in English Literature and M.S. in Natural Resources/Fire Ecology, she is well-equipped to use her writing skills in the management of a scientifically-based fire and resource management program. During her time with the National Park Service, Carrie wrote numerous multi-agency fire management plans, prescribed fire plans, environmental compliance documents (NEPA and Section 7 compliance), and resource management plans. Carrie’s incident command system experience and qualifications currently include: Prescribed Burn Boss Type 2, Situation Unit Leader, Incident Commander Type 4, and Field Observer/Fire Effects Monitor; she currently holds a position on a California Type 1 interagency incident management team as Situation Unit Leader. Carrie has also taught many basic fire training courses and was on the Subject Matter Expert cadre to revise the Situation Unit Leader NWCG course.
